Standard Specifications

All Envision Doors by Design are custom manufactured with MDF or Wood. All wood doors are made of kiln dried hardwoods with natural variations in the color, grain and texture. Hand select lumber is available for an extra charge. All lumber used in our products is harvested under government regulations that conserve and preserve are resources.

Standard Wood Species
MDF for paintable interior doors only.
Wood for interior or exterior doors:
Alder, Knotty Alder, Cherry, Hickory, Jatoba Cherry, White Hard Maple, Soft Maple, Cedar, Plain Sawn Red Oak, Quarter Sawn White Oak, White Oak, Pine, Redwood, Walnut, Sapele Mahogany, and Poplar are standard.

Other woods are available, request quotation.

Standard Thicknesses
Standard MDF thickness is 1-3/8”. Custom Wood thicknesses are 1 3/8”, 1 3/4”, 2” and 2¼” thick wood doors are available through 36” widths and 84” heights.
Custom sizing beyond these parameters is available contact us for quotation.

Construction
All Envision Doors by Design doors are component built utilizing doweled mortise and tenon construction.

Asymmetrical Designs
Double doors will be mirror image matched unless you specify otherwise.

Custom designs are available to your specifications. Send us your sketches and details for a quotation.

Hardware and Hinges
Envision Doors by Design furnishes 3 ball bearing hinges for all doors (regardless of thickness) up to 90”high and four hinges over 90” high to 120”high. Doors over 42” Wide require four hinges.

Prehung Doors Include:
1: Preassembling of jamb, header and threshold.

2: Mortised and attached hinges

3: Three degree bevel on lock side (single door), for double doors, the active door is beveled. If an astragal is used, the astragal is beveled to fit the beveled door. If both doors are active and there is no astragal, both doors are beveled.

4: Doors is fit and installed into the jamb.

5: Single solid wood doors are shipped in the jamb unit.

6: Glass doors and double doors (glass or solid wood) have hinges pins pulled and the door is crated and shipped separately from the jamb to prevent damage in transit.

Sidelights
Matching sidelights are available. For custom designs, forward sketch for quotation. We will use our own interpretation for sidelight designs ordered with out sketches submitted.
